Rarely Known Facts About Your Body That Sound Made-Up, But Aren't

#1 More than half of the population will get an STD/STI during their lifetime.Centers for Disease Control and Infection said that in the U.S. alone, 19.7 million people contract an STI/STD annually.

#2 About half of the DNA in our digestive tract cannot be identified as a known form of life. Biologist and explorer Nathan Wolfe said, "We know it's not anything that we've seen before; it's sort of the equivalent of an uncharted continent right within our own genetic information. And there's a lot of it...And even in the relatively sterile blood, around one to two percent of this information is dark matter -- can't be classified, can't be typed or matched with anything we've seen before."

#3 The average human would have: one ovary, half a penis, one boob, and one testicle. If you combine the traits of all men and women and take an average from that, the results wouldn't be very average at all.

#4 Scientists call this an "evolutionary paradox." During the course of evolution, brain size in humans has increased, but tooth size has decreased.

#5 For every human, there are 1.5 million ants. And the total weight of ants and humans is about equal.
