Mui Thomas is a 22-year-old woman from Hong Kong who lives with ichthyosis, a skin condition that gives her dry, scaly skin.
She was adopted by Tina and Roger Thomas, a couple of German and British hospital workers who were volunteering at the Hong Kong hospital where she was born.

This is Mui with her father Roger, she got used to the constant looks from strangers while growing up and is a very confident young lady. But it wasn't always like that. Mui was also constantly bullied during some of her school years, to the point where she even contemplated suicide. Her mom Tina also had to suffer a lot while Mui was growing up.

One time, a random woman accused her of having burnt Mui's face and slapped Tina in the face. And she has a very important message for young people: "The message I would give to people is: Do not let anything take you back, or an illness or a disability. You are here in this world to have a good time!"
