1) 90% of all sperm in an ejaculation, are actually malformed, but they don't have to be perfect to impregnate an egg.
2) The sperm carry the chromosome that determines the sex of the baby. All female eggs carry the 'X' chromosome. The sperm carry either and 'X' which creates a female, or a 'Y' which creates a male.
3) In order to keep his sperm healthy, the males must ejaculate regularly.
4) Sperm are encased in Acrosome, that releases a chemical when the sperm hits the outer edge of the egg, melting the hard shell in order to allow the sperm to enter.
5) Sperm are little troopers, and can survive for 5 days inside the womb, preferring it cold and up to 7 degrees less than the average body temperature.
6) When a man ejaculates it only fills about a half of a teaspoon, but in that tiny amount are roughly 200 million living sperm swimming in it, and all headed for that one single egg.
7) Sperm health is in direction relation to the male's health. A drinker or smoker tends to have fewer healthy sperm.
